We are located at the Max Planck Institute of Molecular Cell Biology and Genetics (MPI-CBG) in Dresden. Our group has very close ties to its research scientists and our research is focused on helping progress science in this institute. We have small bioinformatics projects running with nearly all research groups of the MPI-CBG. In addition, we are involved in several research projects and research grants with some of the research groups and are focusing our research towards their needs:
- the Buchholz lab (RNA interference)
- the Zerial lab (high-throughput screening, functional prediction)
- the Oates and the Eaton labs (gene regulation)
- the Hyman, Eckmann and the Zachariae labs (identification of weak sequence relationships)
- the Tanaka and the Simons labs (EST annotation and storage)
- the Shevchenko lab (mass-spec analysis and proteomics)
Some of our external collaborators:
- Shamil Sunyaev (Harvard Medical School)
- Pietro DeCamilli (University of Yale)
- Karen Oegema (UCSD)
- the Newmark lab (Univ. Illinois)
We are also members in 2 research grant consortia:
- BMBF grant 0313082H "Endosys":
- Marino Zerial (MPI-CBG Dresden), Andreas Deutsch (ZIH, TU Dresden), Steven Dooley (Univ. Heidelberg), John McCaskill (Univ. Bochum), Rebecca Wade (EML Research GmbH, Heidelberg), Evotec Technologies, Definies AG.
- EU grant 027269 "Sealife":
- Michael Schroeder (TU Dresden), Robert Stevens (Univ. Manchester), Albert Burger (Heriot-Watt Univ. Edinburgh), Patti Kostova (CeRC, London), Rose Dieng (INRIA Sophia-Antipolis).
